National African American Museum Bus Trip from MD

The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American history.

Monday, May 8 and Monday, July 10     $35.00 per person

 

This 400,000-square-foot museum has five levels above ground and four more below and in addition to exhibit space, the museum has a theatre, cafe and an education center.  The inaugural exhibitions will feature some of the museum's 34,000 artifacts, including a segregated railroad car, a shawl worn by Harriet Tubman, a traveling trunk that belonged to the family of the abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison, an airplane used to train Tuskegee airmen, Nat Turner's bible and objects from a sunken slave ship.  Enjoy lunch on own in the cafe.
