Join us as we take on the sights and sounds of the Big Easy!

Fly with us from BWI to the bustling city of New Orleans.  After checking into the Hampton Inn Convention Center, meet your guide and discover the history and legends of the mysterious neighborhood of the French Quarter in New Orleans. On this walking tour, follow your guide as you saunter down the sidewalks of Royal Street, Bourbon Street and other quaint streets named after European saints and sinners. The evening is free to enjoy at your leisure, with dinner on your own at one of the many restaurants in New Orleans. 

 On day two, explore the city of New Orleans and travel through three centuries of New Orleans culture and history with your knowledgeable guide. 

After lunch in the French Quarter, tour the  National WWII Museum that features a rich collection of artifacts that bring history to life.  Named by USA Today as the #1 Best Place to Learn U.S. Military History, and was designated by Congress as America’s official museum about World War II.  Tonight,

learn the basics of Louisiana cooking for your future Cajun meals at the New Orleans School of Cooking and enjoy the dinner you prepared! 

 On the next day explore Oak Alley Plantation where a Cajun lunch buffet is included with the tour of the plantation and grounds.  That evening, enjoy the casual buffet style of dining while taking in the breathtaking views of the city and listening to live jazz aboard the Natchez Steamboat. On departure day, take a guided swamp tour on the Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour and enjoy some free time downtown for lunch before heading to the airport.

Activity Level: Moderate with a lot of walking.  If you decide to spend free time downtown it will require a lot more walking on uneven surfaces.



Monday, Sept 11

Meet your local guide for a walking tour of the French Quarter. Dinner is on your own this evening downtown.


Tuesday, Sept 12

Enjoy breakfast, then depart on a guided tour of New Orleans and its historic sites. Three centuries of the city and its culture will be highlighted, including the French Quarter, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and the exotic French Market. In the afternoon, you will visit the World War II Museum. This evening you will enjoy a cooking demonstration and dinner at the New Orleans School of Cooking.

Wednesday, Sept 13

After breakfast, depart for Oak Alley Plantation to enjoy a Cajun buffet lunch and a tour of the plantation and grounds with time to visit the gift shop. This evening you will enjoy a dinner jazz cruise aboard the Natchez Steamboat. Enjoy a casual buffet dinner while taking in the breathtaking views of the city and listening to live jazz by the world-renowed "Dukes of Dixieland."

Thursday, Sept 14

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and check out of hotel. Arrive at the Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour. Bring your camera to capture shots of alligators, egrets, white-tailed deer, mink and nutria in their natural habitat. Enjoy some time on your own in the French Quarter before we leave for the airport later in the afternoon.
