Overnight to Richmond Eyre Bus Trip

A lot of history is packed into this overnight visit to Richmond. Join us for this fun-filled and informative step back into the early history of our country.

April 2-3, 2019   $415.00 per person double

After arriving in Richmond, your local historian and guide, Frank Williamson, will entertain you this afternoon discovering the Shockoe Slip and Church Hill areas.  See the 1741 St. John's Church where Patrick Henry made his plea for "liberty or death," and the view that gave Richmond its name, see where a famous Union Spy lived and hear stories of Edgar Allen Poe's 24 years living in Richmond.  Visit the riverfront and hear about its importance to the developing town, and learn about the historic Tredegar Ironworks.  That evening, dine at the Irish Pub "Sine" and overnight at the elegant, historic and famous Jefferson Hotel, first housing guests in 1895, with even more luxurious and newly renovated rooms for your stay.  After breakfast at the hotel, tour the Thomas Jefferson-designed State Capitol (1788), as well as St. Peter's Catholic Church, established in 1834, and still an active parish today.  Tour Monument Avenue before a lunch and tour at Hanover Tavern (1733) before making your way home.
